One of the best parts of southern Tokushima is the coastline. There are winding inlets and bays, a flat line where the Pacific Ocean stretches out, and beaches where sea turtles comes to lay their eggs. The undulating terrain of the ocean, mountains, and rivers is a mecca for outdoor sports such as surfing, SUP (stand up paddle boarding), kayaking, diving, fishing, trekking, and cycling. South Tokushima is also known for its fresh seafood such as lobsters, abalone, and blue-ringed squid, as well as its locally raised chicken.
